Yemen adopted their flag in 1990, the day that south and north Yemen were unified. The flag is essentially the Arab Liberation Flag of 1952 which many other Arab countries have used as a basis such as Iraq, Egypt, Sudan and Syria.

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
