There are around 40 different species of Toucans. They’re known for their large, colourful bills which can grow up to 8 inches long. Despite its length, their bill is actually very light. They love eating fruit, like berries and bananas, but also eat insects and small lizards. To eat these, they throw their dinner into the air a few times, mashing it between their beak each time they catch it. Dinner is served! They have quite small wings which means they aren’t good flyers. This doesn’t bother them though, as they’d prefer to hop from branch to branch anyway.
