I am having a little hippie chic bohemian moment so forgive me the indulgence of sharing it with you. There is just something about these late 60s, early 70s hand made, soft as butter leathers that just feel right at the moment. The Char label is one of the best and has a cult like following and I have a couple of really unusual pieces to share. This one is a fantastic vest hand-dyed to a deep rust color - you can imagine the dye came from the deserts themselves! Primarily made of deer skin and it is whipstitched down the sides and where there are seams. The collor is very unusual - I have never seen lace worked int a Char piece before - and it also has cut outs backed by hand painted leather! Char made these pieces, by hand from approx 1968 - about 1975-76 in Mexico. Some of the best leather craftsman in the world were there at the time and the piece made are fantastic. Unusual and fantastic and in excellent condition.
